Buffalo Hockey Alliance
The Buffalo Regals and Buffalo Hornets are pleased to announce that they have come to an agreement in principle to form the Buffalo Hockey Alliance. This Alliance joint venture will be the combination of the AA teams of the Buffalo Regals and the Buffalo Hornets.
“For too many years, the AA teams of the Buffalo Hornets and the Buffalo Regals have been struggling with numbers and competitive levels. This will allow the two major tenants of Holiday Rinks to work together to put one competitive AA team at each level on the ice” says Buffalo Hornets President Peter Preteroti.
“This is a win-win for the kids in both of our organizations. Both our organizations have had holes in the past at AA. It only makes sense for both our clubs to work together” says Buffalo Regals President Mike Answeeney. This is a big step forward on development and will give the players the best program possible keeping the focus on the commitment to making hockey better in the area as the goal.
The Buffalo Hockey Alliance will ice teams at Mite through Midget U18 AA levels. Both the Regals and Hornets will still keep the uniqueness of each organization and continue to operate other teams under their own banner.
The Buffalo Hockey Alliance “Tournament Bound (TB)” teams will be registered under the Buffalo Hornets “B” Center franchise and the Buffalo Regals will continue their tradition of Tier I AAA hockey.
